What to check when two review platforms tell different stories

Compare the author, date and full text on each platform, and check whether the experience applies to the service you want.

Open the original source

A review-site entry may link to Google, Yelp, or another platform. Follow the source link when available and check whether the text, date label, rating, and author label match what you are reading. Platform interfaces can show different subsets and sorting orders, so two pages need not present the same sequence or total.

Look for accounts relevant to your question

Sort through detailed accounts for the issue you care about: consultation clarity, a specific treatment, scheduling, or follow-up. A brief rating-only entry cannot answer a complex question about results. An older account may describe a different team or service menu, so check the date and confirm current facts on the official clinic site.

Keep clinical questions separate

If a review mentions a complication or a striking result, use it to ask about the clinic’s current protocol and the exact product or device involved. Do not infer incidence from a handful of posts. FDA and AAD guidance can frame the risk discussion; the clinician must explain how it applies to the proposed treatment.

Questions and answers

Why might platform counts differ?

Platforms use their own displays, filters, and update cycles. Read the attributed originals and avoid assuming the totals represent identical sets.
