Watch the line move
An expression line that appears when you squint or frown may suggest a discussion of wrinkle injections; a fold related to lost support may lead to another discussion. Marie Jé lists Wrinkle Treatment and Radiesse Facial Contouring separately. Ask the clinician to show which part of the concern comes from muscle movement, skin texture, or contour, rather than labeling every line simply a wrinkle.
Compare products and risks
FDA guidance says botulinum toxin products reduce muscle activity and are not dermal fillers. Fillers add volume or support and have their own labeled uses and vascular risks. Ask for the exact drug or filler, the proposed site, contraindications, adverse effects, and emergency plan. A provider may recommend neither if the line is mainly a surface or skin-health issue.
Review the first result before adding treatment
If two options are proposed, ask what each would change independently and when the first result can be reviewed. Request separate quotes and maintenance expectations. A line that remains after one service should be reassessed before adding another; the remaining feature may not be the one originally assumed.
Questions and answers
Will filler stop expression movement?
No. FDA guidance distinguishes filler from drugs that temporarily reduce muscle activity; ask which mechanism matches your line.
